Our client is a highly reputable multi-disciplinary engineering and construction contractor who are based in Worcestershire. Due to consistant growth and success, they are now on the lookout for a Senior Bid Manager to join their pre construction team.

With previous civils/concrete repairs and cathodic protection experience, the Bid Manager will be responsible for securing contract awards and ensuring their effective handover to the operations team to enable successful delivery. This role is vital to the growth of the business and the successful candidate will join the existing work winning team.

5 years in similar role preferred, but not essential

Key accountabilities

- Acknowledge receipt of enquiry documentation, as required.
- Initial review of enquiry to make recommendation for bid/no-bid action to Estimating Manager.
- Complete relevant sections of QMF82 Tender Risk form and pass on to commercial department for completion and processing.
- Review enquiry documentation and distribute to members of bid/commercial/SHEQ/design team, making decisions on timescales and responsibilities.
- Initiate bid team meetings to assign tasks and monitor progress, as required.
- Upload enquiry documentation on to Workspace.
- Attend site meetings to enable pricing of the route.
- Liaise with design department in production of optimum design solution.
- Liaise with planner and CAD technician for production of supporting documents.
- Liaise with commercial department regarding review of tender terms and conditions and qualifications that need to be included with our offer.
- Send enquiries to subcontractors for best market prices.
- Utilise buying department to obtain best material prices available.
- Review and interrogate subcontract and supplier quotations and request amendments, as required.
- Review and amend, as required, design documents.
- Produce price build-up to win the work and provide required margins.
- Produce submission documents required in submission to client, e.g. price schedule, offer document, payment milestone schedule, qualifications, design drawings and documents, route drawings, programmes, RAMS etc.
- Arrange sign-off at appropriate authority level.
- Arrange submission of tender documents.

Required qualifications / expertise:

- Proven track record in winning profitable work.
- Previous site experience would be of benefit.
- Able to work on their own and as part of the work winning team on larger bids.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to produce detailed estimates, submission documents and programmes.
- Proficient in Microsoft packages.
