Our client is part of a global manufacturing business, currently experiencing a high level of growth and development in the UK.

Due to an increase in production a new role has been created for a Maintenance Technician. The requirement will also be for the post holder to undertake the project of setting up the maintenance function which will include organising systems and databases, preparing planned maintenance programs, organising an internal workshop and working towards the continuous improvement of the plant.

The role can be quite varied and you will undertake any task assigned to you from fixing a door hinge, to commissioning a new asset, or attending a breakdown.
You will deliver the Preventative Maintenance program On Time In Full and support site operational activities, communicating regularly with Production supervisors and operatives as necessary.

There will be a commitment from the company to train you to become a 'multi-skilled' engineer, but you must be willing and able to undertake training as required.

The role would suit a time served apprenticeship with a minimum of 3 years practical experience 'post apprenticeship'.
Formal engineering qualifications such as ONC, City and Guilds, (or equivalent), are required
A background in a continuous production environment is essential, ideally in a processing type of industry.
Mechanical knowledge eg in hydraulics and pneumatics is necessary and some basic understanding of PLC's would be an advantage.

This is a day shift role, working 8 till 4 Monday to Friday and is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to expand on their skills and be involved in more project driven work
