Driver Technician - Mobility Aids
Location: Warmley
Contract type: Permanent
17.5 hours per week (days to be agreed)
Salary: GBP 14,251 to GBP 15,366 per annum (pro rata)


About the role
Are you an experienced and confident driver?

We have a position available for a part time Driver Technician within our Mobility Aids Service (MAS)

The Driver technician is responsible for ensuring that equipment is cleaned and maintained to agreed standards and for delivery of equipment between the hub and the local spokes. In addition to equipment maintenance and delivery, the role will also require warehousing and record keeping duties.

About the team
The British Red Cross Mobility Aids Service (MAS) offers the loan of wheelchairs and other mobility items to any individual on a short term basis.

Our aim is to ensure that during a period of personal crisis everyone is able to access an item of equipment they may need, no matter whoever or wherever they are. This service is operated at no cost to the individual.

About the person
We welcome applications from candidate who feel their skills, experience and knowledge match the attached Job description which includes:

  • Computer literate with ability to work with online stock management system
  • Confident and safe driver
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 21 kg
  • Full current driving licence with category C1
  • Knowledge of current legislation / good practice guidelines around driver, vehicle and road traffic operation
  • Van driving experience
