Facilities Technician - Staffordshire, West Midlands - Full-time and Permanent

Baltic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Facilities Technician. As a member of the facilities maintenance team the candidate will be required to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance routines, including hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical and chemical systems attached to production and non-production equipment.

Facilities Technician Role Duties

* Renovation and routine maintenance of facilities equipment.
* Carryout fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment in the following areas; Compressors/Heating/General power and lighting/Gas/Air/Water supplies.
* Undertake planned preventative maintenance activities on support facilities.
* Adherence to departmental systems (Pm, recording downtime, Pirana).
* Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times.
* Timely response to equipment stoppages.
* Improvements to facilities equipment (Kaisan).
* Key performance indicators such as equipment OEE.

Qualifications and Experience Required

* Time-Served Apprenticeship, with an appropriate craft or technical qualification, level 3, HNC or equivalent.
* A good knowledge of 17th Edition Electrical safety and competence not entirely necessary to have the accreditation.
* A good mechanical installation grounding, items include compressed air systems and machine cooling water systems.
* A good knowledge of civil engineering / works project management.
* Experience in heavy / large machinery installations and relocations.
* A self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Conscientious, methodical, task orientated and have the ability to work on your own or as part of a team. You must have the ability to deliver under pressure, be enthusiastic and responsible.
* Good understanding of engineering principles together with reasonable numeracy & literacy, appropriate to the level of the role.
* You'll ideally be multi-skilled, and have the ability to fault find across electrical and mechanical systems and control.
* Demonstrate initiative in delivery of plant improvement activities.
* Systematic approach to problem solving and decision making.
* Capable IT user.
