Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location - Birmingham

Salary - £43,000 OTE 55K plus including shift premium + pension, 33 days holidays and excellent overtime p;

Training available - On Various OEM Equipment and qualifications available

Shifts Available - 4 on 4 off Continentals, Days and Nights role

The Company

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client. They are a large Global Aerospace business based in Birmingham who have been established for over 50 years. Our client supply various aerospace products to some of the largest OEMs and governments in the world.

This well-known and large global Aerospace manufacturing group, have recently acquired a number of large contracts enabling them to hit their growth targets. They now require a maintenance engineer to achieve this.

Our client currently turnover 500million a year in the UK between 2 sites, this is an excellent time to join a large manufacturing group with strong backing from large American manufacturing group who have over 40 sites worldwide.

Overview Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Role

You will be working in a heavy industry environment working on foundry equipment, furnaces, large presses, plasma welding equipment, vacuum systems and forge furnaces.

Carrying out reactive maintenance on production equipment and machines across all the production facilities. The role will be 70% reactive and 30% PPM driven. You will be encouraged to have a direct input into the continuous improvement culture, and have individual project ownership as you grow your career within the company.

Mechanical duties

  • Working on Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Replacing components like for like on large heavy industry equipment.
  • Fault finding mechanically on all factory equipment.

Electrical Duties

  • Fault finding electrically on all site equipment.
  • Replacing components like for like
  • Basic PLC fault finding to input and out level.

The Candidate

The Mechanical Maintenance engineer formally qualified in mechanical or electrical disciplines. Knowledge of hydraulics are ideal for this role.

Experience working in a heavy industry will be preferred but now essential.

The Benefits

Salary - £43,000 OTE 55K
