An exciting opportunity has a arisen for a CNC Operator to join my client in Southam. The role is offered on a temp-perm basis with a highly competitive pay rate - £10.65 per hour rising to £13.32 after the probationary period. 37 hours per week, set day shifts.

The Role:

You will be responsible for establishing and introducing improvements in the CNC manufacture of parts, techniques and processes. You will be required to develop production processes in the CNC machining areas along with identifying solutions to problems.


Must be able to:
• Deliver quality engineering solutions in learned response to development, manufacturing and operational needs
• Reduce set-up and tool change time
• Reduction in re-work and scrap
• Increase output
• Improve delivery of finished product to the customer
• Ensure adherence to quality of finished product
• Manage engineering changes to parts, production and materials in an effective and efficient manner
• Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for all production activities/processes
• Implement cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality standards
• Maintain the routings on the company database
• Complete production paperwork
• Record and maintain data and information relating to daily output
• Make contingency plans when necessary
• Read engineering drawings
• Carry out preventative maintenance inspections
• To work in and support other departments within the company

Competencies & Skills:

You must be a CNC Setter/Operator with mechanical, technical and CNC Programming ability along with strong effective problem solving skills. You must have the ability to respond quickly; work under pressure and have a pro-active work ethic in the reduction of downtime.

You must:
• Have good CNC Setting/Operator Knowledge (Fanuc Controls)
• Be computer literate
• Be able to understand and adhere to the company goals and KPI’s
• Have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and be a team player
• Have knowledge of Lean principles and practices
• Embrace flexibility and change
• Have good health and safety awareness and adhere to policies
• Have good all round knowledge of 5s standards

• Programming knowledge
