We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and committed professional to the following post to commence as soon as possible.

Teaching Assistant with British Sign Language (BSL) Level 2 Grade 5 - Scale points 14-17 (£16,781-£17,772) per annum, pro rata 25 Hours per week, Term time only.

Initially fixed term until 20th July 2018 (however we anticipate that the successful candidate will support this student throughout their time on roll at the Academy)

The successful candidate will have a level 2 BSL qualification and will work under the guidance of the SENCo and teaching staff, within an approved system of supervision, to implement agreed work, care and support programmes with a profoundly deaf student either individually or in group work as required, in or out of the classroom.

You will liaise closely with a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf who will advise on strategies to maximise inclusion academically, socially and emotionally. The Teacher of the Deaf and the SENCo will endeavour to promote strong links with the student’s parents / carers and will guide the post-holder in this area. In-house and external training will be provided in meeting the audiological,
educational, linguistic, social and emotional needs of the student.
