An exciting position is now available for an Automotive Technician / Technical Support Engineer / Master Technician with experience in Hybrid/Electric vehicles, looking to utilise their mechanical parts and technical knowledge in a different way.

The Product Support Engineer will provide technical support and deliver training to motor factors, garages, end users and colleagues via the telephone, email and field visits.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vehicle technician / Mechanic to join a market leading parts manufacturer, taking advantage of their mechanical/technical skillset.

Office Based, commutable from - Rugby, Daventry, Northampton, Coventry, Hinckley, Leicester, Towcester

GBP34,000 Pa + Benefits + 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Bonus

The Role

Working for a big player in the automotive parts manufacturing sector you will be offering support and guidance on any technical, diagnostic, warranty, fitment and parts identification issues to customers via the telephone, email and in the field.

* Providing first class customer service in line with service standards, representing our client in a professional manner.
* Liaise with suppliers and Product Managers on technical issues to find solutions.
* Investigate customer queries regarding application, fitting and operation of electrical and mechanical systems
* Assist customers with diagnostic support .
* Process warranty claims .
* Assisting the sales team with upselling and technical support.
* Be available for out of hours service.
* Present technical information to customers, including management level

The Candidate

Our ideal candidate will currently be working as an experienced Technician / Mechanic within a workshop or garage environment or a Technical Support Advisor within a parts manufacturer environment and will have an excellent understanding of vehicle mechanics, automotive electronics and diagnostics.

You will also have

* Experience of dealing with customers in a dealership/workshop environment.
* Thorough knowledge of electric/hybrid vehicle systems.
* Fantastic understanding of electrical/mechanical automotive systems to a Master Technician level.
* Strong communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
* Good IT skills , in particular Outlook and Excel.
* The ability to gather information, analyse and the communicate solutions to technical and non-technical customers.
* Great negotiation skills.
* A problem-solver.

* The ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes pressurised environment.
