Senior PLC / SCADA System Engineer / Technical Lead - West Midlands - GBP42-50k + car allowance + benefits

Samuel Frank Associates require a Senior PLC / SCADA System Engineer to join a market leading, large and stable organisation in the West Midlands. Candidates with experience of any of the major PLC vendors will be considered (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron). The senior PLC / SCADA System Engineer will be the department's design authority and be the technical "go to" person for external contractors. The position will involve a small number of direct reports.

Working with a team of Engineers, the successful PLC / SCADA System Engineer will be responsible for the design, programming and successful delivery of solutions across a wide range of water production, distribution and storage facilities. Applicants with experience of working in the water treatment industry or the utilities sector will be considered favourably although other sector experience will be considered.

Throughout the lifecycle of a project you will be responsible for PLC and SCADA system design, software development, documentation and overall quality assurance. You will also provide support for testing, commissioning, training, operational handover and post project support.

Educated to Degree level or equivalent and with proven experience, you will have an excellent understanding of ICA/ICS design standards. Experience with Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi equipment would be advantageous but experience with any of the major vendors will be considered.

The successful hire will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to deal effectively and efficiently with customers from all areas of the business. You will be required to travel throughout the West Midlands, therefore a driving licence is essential and a car allowance is provided on top of the salary.

Participation in an out-of-hours standby rota may also be required for which additional payment will be made.

The client's offices are commutable from most of the West Midlands including places such as Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Walsall, Cannock, Sutton Coldfield, Penkridge and West Bromwich.
