Chief Engineering are looking for a HSW Senior Technical Expert (Reporting), who can translate health and safety data to help the business drive performance. You will work in partnership with Severn Trent managers and third parties to deliver pragmatic and simple solutions using data and interpretive tools and techniques such that non-specialist colleagues can effectively use the data and learn lessons. You will also be accountable for the assurance of the data, along with analysis of the information, to enable identification of trends and provide insight and information into Health and Safety performance and areas for potential improvement. You will lead the development of new HSW data sources to ensure outputs are fit for purpose and enable comparative data insight with existing data sets. The ideal candidate will develop the internal team processes to identify efficiencies in the production of reports, and maintain a process for incoming data requests to ensure existing report commitments are not compromised. It would be great if you've worked in a similar role before, having a robust understanding and translating of business information requirements into meaningful reporting, An awareness of Health and Safety legislation, Health and Safety theory and best practice. Experience in data analysis/processing and producing management information, also preparing data and reports for presentation to various audiences.

As a HSW Senior Technical Expert (Reporting), your key skills and competencies will include:


*Identify which incidents should be categorised as RIDDOR and report to the HSE

*Perform assurance to guarantee data integrity and compliance

*Work closely with Severn Trent managers and third parties to understand their business information needs and translate those needs into clear and well-articulated business requirements

*Key point of contact for users of business information, supporting with how to use reports, what information is available and how to make requests for new information

*Lead discussions, present options, and consult colleagues on information needs through to solutions delivered

*Management of stakeholders, setting expectations and delivering on promises

*Test the solution designed and embed its use with the appropriate users
