Market insight is key to developing class leading vehicles of the future. This role acts as the single point of contact for all market and competitor intelligence ensuring business strategy decisions are made in the context of the market trends. Responsible for sourcing, analysing and delivering intelligence from a number of internal and external sources and working closely with engineering to ensure commodity/ technology plans meet the future customer needs.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks
Competitor Intelligence:
• Competitor data mining - Sourcing of all competitor and market intelligence/insights, current and future and publish quarterly insight reports to the business
• Work with the regions to deliver motorshow reports - highlighting key areas of interest ahead of the show, media news pre and during and the production of a key insight report.
• Work with the benchmarking team to ensure the collection of data includes a customer focus, assist with planning the research elements of the events, collate data to feed the overall competitive picture

Technology planning:
• Be the specialist in automotive trends (electrification/autonomous etc) - analysis of future trends to encourage a more proactive and future thinking approach
• Use competitor & Market intelligence information to forecast key trends within our market and drive long term technology / feature plans for inclusion in the Product Cycle Plan
• Regional trend analysis and product planning:
• Managing the collation of data from regional product planners, to draw together regional insights to develop a holistic global market picture
• Supporting the product teams and regional planners to analyse market and competitor information, including sales/volume/trend/IHS data to provide insights for product and volume planning globally
• Closing the loop on product feedback - monitoring actions taken as a result of market/product feedback

General team support/activities:
• Provide support for Gateway presentations, PSC materials and Vehicle Line Business Reviews
• Supporting regional calls and working with the regional planners on insight requests
• Drive the visibility of our internal knowledge bank and ensure that data and insights are accessible and shared across the whole business
• Own and develop the Market Intelligence SharePoint site to ensure timely and effective distribution of insights.
• Organisation and support of Customer research events - customer clinics/focus groups
• Customer facing to gather feedback at launch events/dealer training etc

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree educated or relevant senior qualification
• Experience of and a passion for Automotive
