A well-established manufacture who is a leader in their field are recruiting for a permanent Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work a day's role Monday- Friday 8am-4.45pm for a salary between GBP29,500-GBP30,250 at their Stoke On Trent facility. My client is looking for mechanically biased engineer with some electrical skills; ideally you will have 16/17th Edition. This role is ideal for someone looking for a varied role where they will have significant input into the improvement of this well-established and progressive specialist site.

Job Description

Mechanical Maintenance/Engineering qualification is essential
Electrical Maintenance qualification is essential - you will be required to carry out wiring and testing of manufacturing equipment
Prior experience of maintaining production machinery
Strong communication skills and team work. Able to work well within a production team and with individuals of all levels
Problem solving ability - Engineering and electrical
Applying logical fault-finding skills, often under time pressures
Pro-active and flexible approach to work.
Enthusiastic contribution to Continuous Improvement initiatives
Confident in IT including Outlook, Word and Excel. Able to apply these in communication and accurate record keeping
Excellent organisational skills, can prioritize tasks, multitask and highly self-motivated. Can manage own workload well
Must be able to cope under time pressure when required


Planned and breakdown maintenance, emergency breakdowns, fault finding and fixing
Day to day engineering and maintenance activities
Working to highest standards of safety, ensuring machine safety as part of the engineering and maintenance work
Optimizing machine availability and efficiency
Working to a Preventative Maintenance Plan, keeping computerized and written records as necessary
Carrying out equipment/process and product quality inspections to ensure process setup is correct
Communicate with Production Manager to prioritize objectives
Machine and tool improvement work to enhance factory performance
Ensuring all maintenance, engineering and equipment activities are prioritized
Responsible for overseeing and improving machine set up activities
Tool regrinding and maintenance (Training will be given in the use of our grinding equipment)
Working closely with suppliers and external contractors relating to building, engineering work, breakdowns, projects and specialist tooling and equipment
