Job Title Basis Principal Consultant Based Office-based with travel to all Edenhouse offices and customersas required Direct Reports Team Leads and Consultants Working Relationships Head of Consulting reports directly to the Head of Consulting. Basis Team Leads mentor and coach team leads with overallaccountability for day to day management and direction setting for theoverall team. proposes training plans and inputs into appraisals andfeedback for other consultants Basis Consultants overall management of the team, technical expertisefor estimate and proposal reviews Head of Services Acts as second level escalation point for queriesand customer complaints within their area PreSales Technical/Functional Lead for their area, assists PreSaleswith Bids, strategy and long term direction for the team The Role The post-holder is a key member of the consulting team, and is expectedto work closely with the Head of Consulting, their team leads andconsultants to set the direction and strategy for their team, whilstensuring service delivery levels and quality of work are maintained atthe highest standard The Principal is responsible for the management, planning andcoordination of a group of team leads and Consultants. They areaccountable for ensuring the successful delivery of support,enhancements and projects in line with both customer expectations andour Service Level Agreements. The role is expected to be a mix of hands-on strategy and solutiondelivery activities, and the remainder line management and teamorganisation. 30% of the role is expected to be dedicated to teamleadership and management , and the remaining 70% to customer facingdelivery and presales activities. Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding themselvesand their teams. Experience of managing and motivating geographically dispersed SAPteams Ability to foster and maintain good relationships with customers andcolleagues to meet expected customer service levels Good awareness of commercial customer arrangements within Edenhouseand their teams impact on commercial activities within Edenhouse Strong conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidenceand ease Ability to prioritise and organise workloads across a number ofresources and skillsets Ability to be UK Security Cleared Principal Accountabilities Responsible for leading and managing the overall functional ortechnical stream Technical expertise, estimate reviews and proposal reviews for theteam Coach, mentor and lead team to deliver high quality solutions both totime and budget Job Specification: Principal Consultant Reviewed: June 2015 Job Description Input into strategy and direction for their team, working withpresales and the Head of Consulting to identify areas of development,new trends and innovations and ensuring the team are able to deliverwhen required Assist Team Leads in the managing and planning the workload for ateam of SAP consultants Work with Head of Consulting, other Principals and their specificteam leads to identify and set individual and team objectives, in linewith the wider Edenhouse strategy. Determine appropriate development plans for the team, managing bothindividuals and team performance planning accordingly Design, implement and review the teams solutions ensuring bestpractice SAP solutions appropriate to customer requirements andstandards are adopted Key Tasks and Responsibilities Customer facing Design and Implement Best Practice SAP solutions appropriate tocustomer requirements Keep up to date with SAP capabilities within own area of expertise Input into presales activities and proposals to ensure solutionsproposed are both best practice, and meet the customers needs Prepare and complete management reviews of specifications, estimatesand solution documentation to support work completed by the team Work with the Resource Planner and Team Leads to ensure individualsare identified and allocated to activities in order to meet resourcingdemands for all potential and assigned projects, making effective use ofthe available team members and helping to resolve conflicts whererequired Act as second escalation point (after Team Leads) for any customerfacing issues raised Ensure that all customer incidents and requests are dealt withaccording to agreed service levels, and act as management escalationpoint for all unresolved service delivery issues. Business facing Manage team leads and hold authority for management of overallconsulting team concerned, ensuring adequate coverage for support,enhancements and project deliverables Monitor and manage overall utilisation for the team and ensure actionplans are put in place by the team leads to maintain levels required Complete technical and functional reviews of estimates, proposals andsolutions being delivered within the team, signing off solution onbehalf of team as appropriate Work with Pre-sales to identify new areas of skills, and proposetraining plans to ensure the Consulting team have the skills to delivercustomer requirements Be seen as the technical/functional expert for your area, providingresponses and resolutions to requests and queries from AccountDirectors, PreSales, Head of Service, Head of Projects and Head ofconsulting as required Hold overall accountability for ensuring all internal processes,including the completion of necessary time recording information arecompleted as required across the team Act as second escalation point for any internal escalations andqueries relating to the overall team team Employee facing Manage all direct reports personal development plans, supporting asnecessary, their induction, training and development through thePersonal Development Report (PDR) process. Be main focus point for recruitment activities within the team,evaluate/interview candidates for position within the team as required.
