Heat Treat Operator

An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a market leading Aerospace Manufacturer that are offering a stable and lucrative career within their business. They require a Heat Treat Operator, who is capable of using heat treatment in a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate for Heat Treat Operator will have a flexible approach and willingness to work in a team with the ability to keep calm under pressure and be responsive to change.

Duties for Heat Treat Operator will include:

• Operating to quality procedures as dictated by Nadcap requirements

• Completion of PIR sheets and relevant process documentation

• Capable of reading drawings and understanding process specifications.

• Masking and Heat Treatment of various components using multiple heat treat processes processes, e.g. carburise, vacuum, salt bath hardening, tempering

• Capable of performing any heat treat process within the manufacturing route, training will be given if required

• Performing Tensile and Izod Testing, Hardness Vickers Testing, Microhardness Testing

• Assessment of data on recorders in order to achieve conformance to drawing and specification requirements

• Ensuring furnaces are fit for purpose by conducting daily monitoring (TPM)

• Provide assistance in quality control systems, investigations (i.e. non-conformance reviews, root cause analysis), continuous improvement activity, etc.

• Assist in Heat Treat Department with continuous improvement initiatives

Experience

• Knowledge of relevant manufacturing related quality procedures
• Experienced in all Heat Treat processes
• Experienced in various material testing processes
• Ability to communicate effectively within working environment
• Able to identify and resolve problems
