Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

Sprint is a new concept in rapid transit that is being developed for the West Midlands and will provide a key element of the region's rapid transit network. Passenger services will be provided using a new fleet of high quality articulated buses which will provide a tram like journey experience. Combined with a range of priority measures, high quality passenger facilities, information and smart ticketing; Sprint will help to transform public transport in the region.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Engagement Manager to join our Transport for West Midlands Sprint Team, and take on an exciting opportunity in the West Midlands to support development and delivery of schemes in time for the 2022 Commonwealth games, and the opening of HS2 in 2026. The individual shall have great interpersonal skills and engagement experience in the development and delivery of highway and/or capital and revenue funded project(s).

Successful candidates will be educated to Degree level and/or relevant demonstrable experience. You will be required to demonstrate best practice in engagement management and coordination of messaging across multiple projects within the programme. The post holder will have excellent written and presentation skills in order to engage with senior managers, politicians and wider stakeholders. You will have the ability to prioritise and manage your work through a pro-active approach in order to meet deadlines.
