Care Assistant

Due to expansion, Evergreen Care Home wishes to appoint an experienced Care Assistant 24 contracted hours.

Your role:

  • Is to provide support cover whilst on shift and your duties will include, working alongside the Manager and Assistant Manager to provide the highest levels of care, ensuring that care plans are followed accordingly.
  • Act as a key worker for guests (following the training manual and care plans).
  • Supporting our guests with personal care, ensuring social and emotional needs are met.
  • Be understanding and patient towards guests needs, encouraging and assisting guests to partake in leisure activities and updating and maintaining accurate guest’s records and ensure that any changes in physical and mental wellbeing are reported to the Managers.
You will also be responsible to ensure that yourself and care staff comply with all relevant Health and Safety requirements, COSHH and infection control, be alert to a resident`s safety.

Your contracted hours will be 24 although changeable from week to week, which will include weekends and nights, as you will be covering for staff holidays

You will need to have:

  • Previous experience and ideally a knowledge of working with older adults.
  • Ideally Qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care, however, a carer with many years of experience would also be considered, most of all you would need to be flexible

The home has recently completed a refurbishment and an extension to provide further 6 en suite bedrooms (registered for 24 guests) The home provides residential, respite and day care services.They are rated as good by CQC across all categories and the care industry’s leading website recognises this care home as one of its top 20 recommended care homes in the West Midlands
