Overall Job Purpose:
The role will lead and manage a team to merchandise the and websites, and the Halfords shop on eBay. Working in partnership with the Category, Marketing, Customer, Store Opps, Supply Chain, and other functions across Halfords and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for maximizing the sales and profit potential for all products on and i.e
  • Implements all the merchandising activity for Halfords digital channels on all devices
  • Prepare and organize all major and minor sales events, re-merchandising the site as required
  • Drive changes to online category strategy based on customer and competitive insights, brand strategy and e-commerce goals and initiatives
  • Ensure financial targets are delivered vs. forecast / YOY with key metrics in line with expectations with the overall aim to drive profit for the total company via 2 online channels
  • Analyze sales and web metrics to make recommendations about products and categories, web marketing and promotions
  • Focus throughout is on the customer journey and user experience
  • Identify & respond to new competitor and market trends by highlighting competitor activity & trade opportunities (gap analysis)
  • Work with the content team to ensure that all online products updates are on time with the right message and in the right place
  • Work collaboratively with the Content team, Brand and UX to ensure the website merchandising reflects what the customers expect
  • Work with offline Marketing team to co-ordinate on new product launches, sales / promotion events and traffic driving initiatives
Skills and Experience Required:
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • A proven track record of high performance in a high profile role
  • An ability to thrive in a fast-paced and pressurised commercial environment
  • An ability to develop and manage excellent relationships with suppliers
  • Numerate with an ability to analyse financial and competitor data to inform commercial decision making
  • Experience of Product Marketing including pricing, promotions planning and advertising
  • A high degree of tenacity and drive
  • A proven eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Experience of good cross-functional working and stakeholder management
  • An ability to demonstrate creative flair
Line & Performance Management:
  • Sets individual objectives for team members that align to their development needs
  • Gathers and evaluates feedback on performance on a regular basis
  • Summarizes feedback to focus on key strengths and development areas
  • Delivers feedback on regular basis (as needed)
  • Coaches and mentors team members in good practices
  • Manages personnel issues as they arise
