Henley in Arden • Permanent • Full Time • £18,000 - £21,000 DOE

Job Description:

Arden Personnel are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant/Administrator to join a growing business based in Henley In Arden. You will be working with a small friendly team, reporting to the Business Manager and Directors of the company, and will be responsible for;


  • Providing an effective, timely and confidential financial and accounting support to staff and the Directors as required
  • Supporting other members of the Administration team as and when required
  • Ensuring an awareness of practice costs and contribute in keeping within these costs as instructed
  • Exercising vigilance in respect of Health & Safety
  • Participating in training and take responsibility for personal development
  • Ensuring that all actions taken are in the best interests of the practice and of both the internal and external customers
  • To work and exhibit the positive values of the company


  • All general reception duties: Handling all incoming calls, taking messages, welcoming visitors in a professional and courteous manner and maintaining the Reception area.
  • Overseeing the proposed new Practice Management System, ensuring all staff are kept up to date with new developments, ensuring records are maintained and kept up to date


  • Recording and monitoring staff attendance, sickness, annual leave and mileage
  • Recording and monitoring staff monthly hours and submitting to accounts for salaries


  • Keeping an up to date, accurate record of purchases, sales, receipts and payments
  • Responsible for the purchase invoices and pass for payment
  • Liaising with the Business Manager and Accountants with the preparation for the submission of VAT, end of year accounts and all associated tasks
  • General accounting duties
  • Reconciling the petty cash
  • Credit Control

The Successful Applicant:

To be considered for this Accounts Assistant/Administrator role you will need to have;

  • Previous experience in a similar bookkeeping role
  • Good eye for detail
  • Sage/accounts experience
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Friendly and approachable
  • Flexible and supportive
  • Ambitious and wanting to grow with this young and exciting company
  • Driver due to rural location

As an Accounts Assistant/Administrator you will receive;

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 5.00 pm (30 min lunch break)
  • Requirement to work on a Saturday 1:4, on a rota 9.00 am – 1.00 pm
