Simply Education are working in partnership with an Ofsted rated ‘Outstanding’ independent and specialist provider of alternative education, who are seeking to employ at teaching assistant who is able to drive the schools mini bus. The position will be to start after Easter.

The school welcome young people who have become disengaged from mainstream learning and/or those who have a statement of special educational needs. Most students are in KS3 and KS4, but their lessons aren’t restricted to the kind found in mainstream schools. From achieving GCSEs and key learning milestones to pursuing ASDAN qualifications and enjoying extra-curricular activities, there is plenty to get young people motivated.

Your main role will be to support the teaching staff and to work with other support staff to enhance the development and education of pupils. You will assist with the induction, assessment, intervention and support of all pupils. SEN experience is desirable.

You will provide input into the planning and evaluation of learning activities for individuals and groups of pupils. As well as this you will monitor individual’s progress, achievements and development and report these to the teaching staff.

- Be able/willing to drive a mini-bus
- Level 2 or Level 3 NVQ
- Be engaging, fun and flexible where needed
- Able to deal with challenging behaviour
- Have a patient and creative approach
- Bring new ideas, be adaptable and build excellent working relationships
