We are looking to recruit 3 new team members to complete our staff team.

We currently support two young people who are developing independence skills who present a variety of complex needs.

Salary: £8.00-£8.65 (dependent of experience/qualifications)

You must be over 21 years of age and hold a full UK driving licence.

Midmeadows is a 4 bedroom registered children’s home for children and young people aged 8-18 and is located in the heart of Herefordshire. Generally the home accommodates young people of the same gender but can also offer mixed gender placements.
Midmeadows is centrally located where it has good public transport links with it being ten minute journey to the city centre, making it an ideal location for young people needing to develop their independence skills, due to its links to public transport, college, and school, training facilities, shops and leisure facilities.

Types of duties
These can be varied but are all centered on the young person and can include:
  • Providing encouragement when getting ready for education/employment/training
  • Transportation (Use of Company Car)
  • Care Planning
  • Meal Planning
  • Organising and facilitating social activities (outside of Education/Employment/training)
  • Maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry and shopping etc.)
  • Home management
  • Behavior Management
  • Liaising with external stakeholders and our own multi-disciplinary team

The day can be very unpredictable and quite easily you could spend the entire afternoon providing 1:1 support managing extremely challenging behavior, the right type of person needs to be flexible, adaptable, patience and able to read situations and help our young people make positive choices.

Shift patterns – what a typical 2 week rota could look like
Week 1
Monday – 09:30am – 11:00pm with sleep / Wake up 7:30am – 10:00am
Tuesday – Day off
Wednesday – Day off
Thursday - 09:30am – 11:00pm with sleep / Wake up 7:30am – 10:00am
Friday – Day off
Saturday – Day off
Sunday - 09:30am – 11:00pm with sleep / Wake up 7:30am – 10:00am

Week 2
Monday – Day off
Tuesday – 09:30am – 11:00pm with sleep / Wake up 7:30am – 10:00am
Wednesday – Day off
Thursday – Day off
Friday – 09:30am – 11:00pm with sleep / Wake up 7:30am – 10:00am
Saturday – Day off
Sunday – Day off

You will need the following skills/qualifications:
  • A passion for working with children
  • At least one year’s experience in Children’s Residential Care
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Engaging
  • Strong determination to succeed
  • A willingness to learn
You will be expected to have a level 3 diploma in Health & Social care or committed to passing this once you have completed your probationary period.
