We have vacancies for Relief Support Workers in the St.Martins area near Oswestry, to provide support for a gentleman who is 58 years young who has learning difficulties and requires 24 hour support. Our Relief Support Worker positions mean you will work shifts as needed when our regular staff are on holiday, on sick leave or during other periods of additional need. We will pay you on an hourly rate basis for the time worked, and shifts offered can include days, evenings, nights and weekends.



The gentleman we support at this service, enjoys listening to music and has a very large collection of CDs that he rotates into boxes in his room. He likes to sit in his room listening to these CDs while daily chores are done. He also enjoys watching some TV he does have some favourite programmes but also enjoys sports and films.



He lives in a lovely spacious bungalow in a quiet area and has a large garden in which he enjoys tending to his plants, watering them and also sitting in the garden to enjoy them and the views he has.



The gentleman also enjoys eating good healthy food and likes to help in the kitchen while meals are being prepared. He also enjoys shopping in the supermarket for groceries. There are some general household duties to take care of every day to keep the bungalow clean and tidy. He has a cat and a cold water fish tank



High on the list of things he likes to do is going out with staff in their cars for day trips or to events.





About you



The right person will be able to provide support to enable him to continue with being as independent as possible. He does require some support with his daily personal needs.



We welcome people with previous experience in the care sector, but this is not essential. If you are a caring, creative and patient person then you have the qualities needed for this job, and we will provide all the training, day-to-day assistance and back-up you'll need.



You must hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, and have your own transport which is insured for Business Use. Your licence must be at least 12 months old.
