Transport CoordinatorTamworthFull Time - PermanentTo provide an effective and efficient operational and administrative service for the transport function ensuring legal compliance of drivers and fleet. To work with the planning team, the warehouse FLM's and warehouse Clerks to ensure that loads are despatched in a timely manner. Also to ensure that plans are achieved and KPI's are met in line with the budget.Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor and review drivers tachographs for compliance with the law and ensure that drivers know of and confirm to customer service level requirementsCheck and confirm volumes for the week and organise through preferred supplier of agency personnel drivers daily dutiesBrief drivers at the start of every shift to communicate planned requirements. Debrief drivers on return to ascertain if any difficulties were encounteredInput details of depot fuel usage to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is available in terms of MPG by vehicle and by Driver versus budget.To ensure customer KPI's are met by planning effectively.Input workload onto EFX/CTMSTo ensure that all training related to Health and Safety is adhered to and any concerns regarding Health and Safety are reported to the relevant partiesTo undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the Transport Department, which includes multi-skilling order to support other members of the team.Brief drivers on their deliveries and any special delivery / collection instructions and or requirementsAllocate deliveries to drivers, taking into account skills, qualifications, abilities, experience and legal requirementsLiaise daily with Traffic Load Planner, internal Customer Service and other colleagues throughout the businessTachograph analysis administration process managed correctlyDefect reporting procedure strictly adhered toCompile and submit various performance data by way of performance, cost, volume and service deliveryTo assist with the day to day scheduling and planning of the transport operation, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised at all times and service levels are adhered to.Skills & ExperienceKnowledge of driver's hours regulations, WTD, vehicle and trailer maintenance planning.Previous experience of 3rd party warehouse operationUnderstanding of Transport/Warehouse Management Systems, inventory management and transport systemsGood working understanding of the general principles of warehouse and transport operationsGoods communication skills, both written and verbalGood telephone mannerPC LiteracyAbility to motivate self and work as part of a teamGood geographical knowledgeNational CPC
