About the role: They have a new opportunity for an experienced Sous Chef to join their team. The main responsibilities of the role are to assist with the effective and efficient operational running of the kitchen, whilst maintaining standards and practices. Responsibilities: - Have a full operational knowledge of the preparation, production, presentation and service methods of all food items served in the establishment - Help plan, organise and cost, periodic, special, vegetarian and event menus, in co-operation with the Head Chef - Order and receive food and non-food items in accordance with company purchasing policy and as directed by the Head Chef - Ensure that all items and dishes are prepared and served according to standards agreed by the Head Chef - Provide a consistently high level of service and product delivery - Co-ordinate, plan, supervise and participate in the production, preparation and presentation of meals - Work with high quality fresh produce and organic ingredients as menus dictate - Ensure that sufficient supplies are available, in order to meet the expected business demands of the shift / session - Plan and allocate jobs to junior staff, ensuring that all items produced are according to standard recipes, portion yields and within agreed time limits and minimum wastage - Ensure the kitchen and surrounding food preparation areas are clean and maintained, including equipment, work surfaces, according to cleaning schedules - Help to control departmental costs, wastage and expenses - Establish and maintain effective communication with staff and senior management / colleagues - Support the Head Chef with the implementation of new procedures, practices and standards where applicable - Assist with staff training; departmental inductions, job skills, safety, statutory requirements and development - Monitor the standards of work, working practices, productivity and standards of customer care of all employees within the department About you: - Experience within a similar role You may have experience of the following: Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Chef, Commis Chef, Catering Assistant, Senior Chef, Hospitality, Kitchen Assistant, Chef, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
