Reporting to, and deputising for the Purchasing Manager in their absence, your key tasks will include managing, measuring and challenging supplier performance, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and identifying and implementing cost savings and business process improvements.
You will be an accomplished manufacturing Buyer with a broad range of purchasing experience in both direct and indirect commodities.
Your CV will demonstrate your professional negotiation expertise, your knowledge of strategic purchasing and detail a track record of achieving year on year savings.
You will have developed strong internal working relationships, understanding the demands of the extended supply chain; ensuring commodities are purchased in a timely manner to support production and improve overall on time delivery (OTD).
Your knowledge of managing overseas suppliers (US and the Far East in particular) would be a distinct advantage.
Autonomy, personal credibility, enthusiasm and a flair for communication are essential, but above all you will need to have the vision, determination and the ability to translate the changing needs of a demanding market into compelling and deliverable product and service solutions.
