An exciting opportunity has opened up for somebody looking to climb the commercial career ladder! npower’s Home and Business division looks after around 160k small to medium size businesses and our Business Commercial team sit at the heart of this, to make the right call between sales levels and margin.

You’ll be joining a people focussed team, open to new ways of working. As someone who always has the customer in mind, you will be thinking about how we engage customers, what propositions we offer to them, and how we improve their journey. In this role you will have the opportunity to really make an impact by challenging and influencing the wider business.

You will be responsible for establishing and delivering appropriate customer number & margin targets, leading on pricing decisions as well as challenging sales managers on performance. You’ll stay in tune with the wider market to support the customer forecasting process. You will also oversee the running of scenarios to drive optimisation decisions and take responsible for project managing our product, pricing and customer strategy trials.

Skills and experience
You may have a background in Sales & Marketing but would like to play a broader role in decision-making, using your analytical and interpersonal skills in a more commercial environment.

Perhaps you’ve developed your analytical skills in Finance and are now seeking to get ‘beyond the numbers’ and get stuck into day-to-day business decision-making?

Alternatively, you may already work in a Commercial, Pricing or Financial Planning and Analysis team but want a step-up into a senior capacity as your next step into commercial management.

Perhaps you’ve come on an entirely different journey to this point but have the skills, energy & passion required to help shape the future success of this segment.

Regardless of where you have gained your experience, you will have a problem solving, pragmatic mind-set with great commercial judgement, analytical skills and experience are essential, as are strong excel skills ideally coupled with modelling experience and SAS competency. You will have experience leading a project or business partnering skills and be able to demonstrate how you can manage and influence business stakeholders.

Salary and package details
£30,000-£45,000 depending on experience
