Our multi-million-pound turnover client has been established for more than a century and are recognised internationally as market leaders in the supply and manufacture of blast abrasives for a diverse range of industrial applications. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a highly self-motivated and proactive Sales and Business Development Engineer to complement their established and highly successful sales team.

Based from home and tasked with both proactive new business development and existing account management activities, the successful Sales and Business Development Engineer will cover the Midlands region and will both target and support new and existing clients and develop mutually beneficial relationships through effective diary management and regular visits to customer sites.

Initially tasked with establishing and implementing structured processes for sales and the identification of new business clients and market sectors, the successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in both proactive new business development and existing account management and maximisation of results from both sources, whilst assessing existing contract management and business development opportunities within the area and determining the best possible means of increasing performance and results.

Whilst full product portfolio training will be provided, to be considered for this varied and challenging Sales and Business Development Engineer role you will essentially need to demonstrate an analytical approach to problem solving and an Action/Results Oriented/Execution mentality to sales and business development with excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels. You will possess strong commercial acumen and exceptional negotiation and presentation skills as well as an organised approach and proven prioritising abilities.

It is envisaged that the successful Sales and Business Development Engineer will demonstrate relevant engineering qualifications to at least HND level or above in a mechanical or chemical engineering discipline (with knowledge of coatings, bonding or minerals proving distinctly advantageous), along with previous experience gained within a sales or engineering environment - and the role may suit an engineering professional eager to progress their career within a dynamic sales focussed environment.
