Hospice Hope is seeking to recruit a health or social care professional with experience of supporting people with life limiting conditions and day-to-day management of staff / volunteers. The purpose of the role is to successfully manage the charity's Day Centre (Hope House in Griffydam) and to be instrumental in its future, ensuring that Hope House operates at nearly full capacity of guests and appropriate numbers of volunteers on Mondays and Thursdays, and plan to open on a third day in early 2019. Above all, the post holder will need to demonstrate care and compassion for our guests and have a welcoming demeanour as they will be responsible for creating a supportive and caring environment for people with life limiting conditions from the North West Leicestershire area. The post holder will be employed for 22.5 hours a week based at Hope House. Working days will be Mondays, Thursdays and one other day (TBC) during that week. Some travel will be required within North-West Leicestershire. Key Responsibilities To efficiently manage and continually review appropriate and cost-effective services for Hope House To actively promote Hope House (plus the charity's Support Caf??s) to local healthcare professionals, social services and any other relevant agencies and organisations To develop the number of referrals to the service and ensure that Hope House is running at optimal capacity on all days To ensure that high standards and quality of care are maintained, providing professional advice with regards to all aspects at Hope House To provide advice and guidance to guests with any health-related issues, signposting to other, local support services where appropriate To be actively involved in the recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers, providing induction and on-going training, reviews and appraisals plus supervising staff and volunteers in their provision of support to guests. The post holder will be expected to ensure that the required number of volunteers are present at Hope House when it is open to guests Maintain full and accurate records, budgetary and reporting systems in accordance with the legal and Charity requirements in order to ensure the effective running of Hope House. Reporting to the Board of Trustees on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Effectively manage and report complaints and incidents. Carry out investigations relating to the quality of the service and use findings to make improvements Be prepared to work flexibly to ensure safe delivery and development of the service This position will require the post holder to be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring check (DBS).
