Salary: GBP47,802 - GBP53,805 plus excellent benefits
Hours: 36 hours per week (Permanent)

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is comprised of 18 local authorities and four Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) working together to move powers from Whitehall to the West Midlands and our locally elected politicians, who know this region best. Individual councils will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.

Sprint is a new concept in rapid transit that is being developed for the West Midlands and will provide a key element of the region's rapid transit network. Passenger services will be provided using a new fleet of high quality articulated buses which will provide a tram like journey experience. Combined with a range of priority measures, high quality passenger facilities, information and smart ticketing; Sprint will help to transform public transport in the region.

We are currently recruiting for experienced Scheme Delivery managers to join our Transport for West Midlands Sprint Team, and take on the exciting opportunity to deliver Sprint schemes identified for completion in time for the 2022 Commonwealth games in the West Midlands. The individual shall have strong project management experience in the development and delivery of highway and/or bus and rapid transit project(s) and/or capital and revenue funded project(s).

Successful candidates will be educated to Degree level and/or relevant demonstrable experience. Candidates are also required to have PRINCE 2 practitioner qualification or equivalent to meet the requirements of the role. You will need to have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with senior managers and have the ability to prioritise and manage your work through a pro-active approach in order to meet deadlines. The post holder will be required to demonstrate best practice in project management whilst working on individual projects, projects within a programme and portfolio management.
