Job purpose

The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the Company is compliant with all applicable regulatory body laws and regulations. Facilitate the review, development, implementation, improvement, and support of policies, procedures, processes, programs, and practices to lead the Company toward continuous compliance. Responsible for the development, education, and training of personnel regarding compliance procedures and process, compiling and reporting compliance related data and informational requests and developing and maintaining appropriate records related to policy, process, and procedure.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation and administration of policies, procedures, programs, and processes.
  • Manage the emergency evacuation procedure and ensure compliance with the Fire regulations
  • Act as the first point of contact when an incident and accident occurs. Act quickly to ensure any hazards and resultant risks are brought under control. Ensure the key stakeholders are informed immediately.
  • Ensure proper release of compliance policies, procedures, and related training within current company programs and systems.
  • Develop and deliver timely and appropriate internal and external communications and training in a variety of formats explaining compliance process and to help process users understand process instructions and to help others to follow and conform to applicable policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Develop and revue compliance policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements, working with all concerned internal departments and individuals to ensure cohesive direction and conformance.
  • Review and analyse documents submitted by other staff for compliance. In addition, compile and submit related information as necessary.
  • Ensure proper release of compliance policies, procedures, and related training within current company programs and systems.
  • Develop and conduct all compliance related training programs for employees. ? Manage the FLT fleet and maintain current accurate records ? Develop and perform an internal compliance audit program.
  • Stay current with all new and proposed regulations .
  • Develop positive working relationships and open communication with personnel.
  • Establish and maintain clear and consistent communication of compliance related issues with all levels of staff.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, process logs and/or other control records pertaining to Compliance policies, procedures, and processes. Utilise computer programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint to create reports, charts, graphs, slides, and other presentation materials as needed.
  • Manage and organise all compliance records.
  • Manage and organise Compliance/Health & Safety Meetings, preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and maintain all meeting-related records.
  • Monitor and assess processes to recommend process improvements.

Job Specifications

Proven background and record of Safety creating initiatives and improving the safety culture in a manufacturing NEBOSH Ability to identify need and seek appropriate source for new information Desire to accept responsibilities and ability to work both independently and within a small team Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively balance compliance and business operations Ability to analyse assessment & injury experience data and determine appropriate action. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure, managing various complex tasks at the same time

Pay: GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 per annum -depending on experience

Holiday: The holiday calendar runs run from January to December and they offer 21 days plus national bank holidays. If you start work part way through the company's leave year, the initial holiday entitlement is based on the period from that date until the leave year ends.

Health care scheme: They provide a primary health care scheme for all those employed for more than 12 months.
