Residential Support Worker
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll have a challenging but fulfilling job working in our brand new provision. Working with vulnerable young people in our children's homes, you'll provide them with personalised care and create a calm, safe living environment. That involves planning social and leisure activities, giving counselling and escorting children on activities, but most importantly creating a home!
Experience isn't essential, but you must have the ability to build a rapport with young people. In many cases, our residents' behaviour can be difficult or challenging. That means you've got to be very patient, calm and resilient. You should also be ready to study for a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England) (if you don't have this or an equivalent already). In the meantime, we'll give you outstanding training to help you do your best. In return you'll need to be happy to work flexible hours, including some sleep-in duties and to have a full UK driving licence.
This is a brand new purpose built home and will accommodate up to 7 young people with complex and challenging needs (SEMH). For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That's what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, our children's homes have a reputation for excellence.
