Technical Project Manager, Project Manager urgently required to join a successful MSP based near Tamworth.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Technical Project Manager to join our team based at our Head Office in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

The successful Technical Project Manager, Project ManagerR will manage both external and internal projects. Meeting both client and stakeholder expectations and delivering against projects tasks as outlined in project plans.

As a successful Technical Project Manager, Project Manager you will:

  • Manage customer facing projects with top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timelines
  • Manage multiple work streams across several projects at the same time
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases
  • Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones, deliverables, resource utilisation, Projects slippage and overrun
  • Work closely with the resource coordinator to ensure resource is correctly utilised and booked following our in house processes
  • Communicate proactively with all involved team members to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Review proposed modifications on project plans, including meeting with interested parties to approve and implement beneficial changes
  • possess the ability to technically understand the requirements that the team will be working on within the projects you are running
  • To work with third parties to ensure project goals are accomplished with minimal disruption
  • Organise and conduct regular internal and customer facing meetings to ensure all parties are informed appropriately and to own any tasks that occur as a result of these project update meetings
  • There will be a requirement to work out of hours to ensure projects are delivered smoothly

Essential skills:

  • A strong technical IT background
  • Experience of managing infrastructure refresh projects
  • Ability to own several work streams at the same time
  • Must be an excellent communicator both verbal and written

  • MS Projects
  • SmartSheets
  • MS Visio
  • Ability to coach others


  • Educated to A Level or equivalent standard, with at least Maths and English grade C GCSE or above
  • Ideally a Prince 2 Practitioner


  • 5 years plus experience gained within an IT project delivery role
  • OR 5 years plus experience gained within an IT infrastructure project delivery role
  • OR 5 years plus experience gained within an project delivery role
  • A technical consulting or delivery background that has progressed into a project related role
