The HR Manager will provide expert professional advice, guidance and support to all staff on the full range of HR activities including policies and procedures, terms and conditions of employment, absence management, recruitment, induction, retention, performance management, maternity/paternity, exit interviews, employee relations, and learning & development.

Competencies for success

CIPD qualified or equivalentFully conversant and up-to-date with all aspects of employment law and HR best practiceExperience in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures Experience at recruitment, interviewing and assessmentProven generalist experience including the ability to work at an operational levelAbility to work autonomously, flexibly and with confidential informationExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsA drive to deliver excellence and great customer servicePro-active, self-motivated, and ability to remain calm in difficult situationsExcellent attention to detail, planning and organisation skills to implement plans and meet deadlinesCo-operative and supportive team playerEnjoy working with people at all levels and in difficult situationsGood problem solving skillsApproachable, tactful and diplomatic with excellent active listening skillsProficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the InternetThe HR Manager will be expected to actively support the Directors in monitoring, developing and deploying policies and strategies that drive business performance through its people.
