Mechanical Service Engineer
Duties / Experience required:
Mechanical Service Engineer is required for servicing, repairing, trouble shooting, stripping and rebuilding mechanical power presses on site at customers works.
Working on presses from 1 ton – 1000 tons capacity.
Experience on pneumatic, hydraulic and lubrication systems.
Knowledge of the various types of mechanical and friction clutch and brake units.
Good mechanical understanding of presses, clearances, setting slides, clutches, brakes etc.
The Mechanical Service Engineer;
Must have a full clean driving licence.
Must have their own tools.
A van is provided.
Would be required to travel and work nationwide and sometimes work away and stay overnight.
Must fill in all their own paperwork, service sheets and time sheets.
39 hours basic per week (plenty of overtime)
0730 - 1600 Mon-Thurs, 0730 – 1500 Fri (factory hours)
Early starts are essential when travelling long distances.
Holiday: 31 Days total, including statutory days ie Xmas, Easter, bank holidays etc.
Leaves approx. 20 days to take when you want - must give notice.
Avoid taking holidays in main shut down weeks (last week July first week Aug)
Pay: Depending on Exp.
Full Experience - Start at £13.18 per hour during 3 month trial / while with agency, then up to £14.18.
Basic hourly rate of £14.18 per hour – 39 hours per week
Over time during week - basic + 1/3
Overtime Saturdays – basic + 1/2
(Plenty of overtime)
