Large residential developer urgently seeks a Design and Technical Manager to help establish a new division in the Midlands. They will be building over 1,500 units initially and are looking at innovative Timber Frame designs to help them achieve this (such as closed panel).

The Role

You will contribute to the divisional design, construction, commercial innovation and the direction of the builds.

It will suit an innovate thinker who is keen to explore and implement cutting edge techniques – the organisation area social landlord and so looking at long-term maintenance and renovation costs will be a key consideration.

The role will also see you over working on modern methods of construction and implementing them into their future projects (such as sustainability and climate impact).

Elements of the role will include

·Client and Stakeholder engagement meetings

·Design Team workshops (both running and engaging in)

·Supply chain R&D

·Whole-life project planning

·Researching innovative products and solutions

·Mentoring more junior members of the team

There is a lot of work to be done to achieve the build targets and your commitment and professionalism with be key to this success.


·Experience within a residential main developer (ideally with knowledge of Timber Frame)

·Site/Project Based experience

·Ideally Degree Educated.

·Will have up to date knowledge of UK building regulations and NHBC standards.

·Be ambitious and keen to progress within an established company

The organisation, through prudent cash management and government contracts, are effectively Brexit proof and in the unique position to adopt cutting edge building methodologies to deliver against these targets.

Not only will you work with innovative manufacturing but also play an integral part in delivering housing for future generations to new technical planning standards.
