£31,000 - £35,000 plus excellent benefits

We're growing Co-op Funeralcare and we have achieved a great deal so far. We've made our low cost funeral services accessible to more people than ever before, we've launched our new membership and we are updating our processes and systems becoming more digital. We pride ourselves on providing a caring and compassionate service, but we could be so much better and we want to do more. We have some new roles which will help us better serve our clients and create an even better place to work for our people.

As a logistics manager you'll lead from the front by taking overall responsibility for the co-ordination of funerals and line management of front line teams. You'll make sure that all necessary resource is in the right place at the right time to enable the delivery of funerals to an exemplary standard. You'll continually improve the operation as well as support the team with any hurdles they may face on the day of the funeral.

What you'll do:

* make sure everything and everyone is in the right place at the right time to deliver the funeral including; the respectful transfer of the deceased, the preparation of the coffin, the whereabouts of the vehicles, and much more

* engage all necessary employees effectively, making sure they are involved and empowered as well as acting as a point of escalation for any logistical problems at all times

* coach and develop a team of funeral service operatives, driver bearers and embalmers

* continually review and improve the logistics operation across your area

You don't need to have come from the funeral industry to be successful in this job, but we need you to have a strong logistics background with the experience of coordinating various streams of activity in a dynamic environment. All whilst maintaining a high level of care and compassion for our clients wishes of course. You'll be quick to think on your feet where needed too, with the aim of providing a seamless and professional funeral service.
