Proven QS required for an award-winning re-developer of historic or listed buildings for luxury apartments.

The Position:

Based from our client’s Shropshire headquarters, the appointed Project Quantity Surveyor will be allocated a number of current and future sites and assume responsibility for:

  • Carrying out project valuations and cost reports
  • Encouraging site teams to issue variations
  • Timely and accurate production of Bills of Quantities
  • Amending bills of quantities to allow for variations on drawings, specifications, materials, subcontractors, omissions and errors
  • Organising subcontract labour supply
  • Carrying out Health & Safety and commercial checks
  • Price negotiation and placing orders
  • Invoice checking and payment
  • Appointing specialist subcontractors for ground improvement, piling, asbestos and demolition
  • Managing, training and developing an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
  • The Candidate:

    Applicants will be expected to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of three years’ quantity surveying experience in the (ideally residential) construction industry
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A highly organised approach to managing a diverse workload
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages
  • Excellent commercial acumen, financial compliance knowledge and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of contractual obligations under various forms of contract
  • (Ideally) some prior involvement in heritage/redevelopment work for high end residential projects
