Job Title: Internal Sales Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £28K-£32K

Main purpose of the position

To effectively and efficiently service the existing client base and to develop and obtain new business

Main responsibilities of the job

To provide technical support and assistance to customers wherever and whenever required.

To develop and expand business opportunities by constant liaison with customers and to service the customer base with all their requirements whilst maintaining a good working relationship.

To liaise with customers and internal departments to ensure that orders are executed to specification and delivered on time.

The servicing of major accounts.

The preparation of cost estimates and quotations and their follow-up.

Establish and select component parts to fulfil the specification requirements of the design.

Preparation of Bills of Materials for quotation purposes, as required.

To liaise with customer’s engineers to ensure that any changes to designs are fully documented and that the customer is kept informed.

The identification of new business potential.

Achieve customers delivery on time by working closely with the Production and Planning team.

Carry out contract review and enter orders on system in line with agreed Business Plan targets.

Plan the Customer workload to fit in with the company wide plan.

Produce the monthly stats for Board presentation and presentation to the customer.

Respond to enquiries in line with the Business Plan target.

Assist on enquiry follow-up in line with Business Plan.

Ensure that the team’s response to answering telephone calls is in line with good Business practice.

Lead the margin improvement exercise and work in conjunction with Procurement to initiate margin improvements. Record and display the results.

Assist the rest of the Sales team with enquiries and enquiry follow-up and order entry.

Support the Commercial Manager on specific projects and on tasks issued by the Commercial Manager.
