To provide support for the finance function of the group, ensuring accurate maintenance and reporting of all business transactions within Episteme Groups accounting software. The role of the Finance Assistant will include the provision of all monthly reconciliations within the general ledger, reporting all issues to the Finance Manager.

Analysing transactions exported through excel and raise intercompany invoices will be essential to the role.

Effective communication is key within the role, with the ability to constructively share views and opinions to inform management on any issues or concerns involving general operations of the group.

• Experience working towards accounting standards (including accredited qualifications when necessary)
• Proven experience of providing multi-disciplinary support to various business functions to provide an outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working in an ever-evolving working environment with the ability to adapt workload to meet deadlines and the needs of the business
• Experience using Xero accounting software

• Knowledge and understanding of the adult education industry with the ability to question anything not fully understood
• Sound analytical knowledge and approach to work


Desirable working towards -
• AAT Level 2 & 3
• Book keeping qualifications
• Level 2 Certificate in Payroll for Business

• Ability to communicate effectively sharing views and constructively challenging processes and practices when necessary
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict timelines
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills with a high level of accuracy
• A self-motivated individual with a continuous professional, positive attitude
