Indigo Healthcare are, looking for enthusiastic passionate doctors to join one of the leading University hospitals in Europe as an ST1-2 in General Surgery.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, West Midlands has over 80,000 new attendances per year in the A&E department and helicopter landing facilities. The hospital also has an ambulatory care ward incorporating 7 theatres, 2 of which are used exclusively for hand surgery. The Trust is a Level 1 Trauma Centre. There are 23 theatres in the main theatre suite of which 4 are for the sole purpose of trauma surgery and there are currently 18 Consultants in the department.

The Role:

- Successful applicant will play a crucial role in the clinical teams covering trauma referrals from A&E as well as an active role in the initial resuscitation of major trauma within the A&E department.
- Clinical duties of the post will involve the management of Acute Musculoskeletal Trauma and ward activity.
- Where possible the opportunity to attend outpatient clinics and theatre lists will be made available.
- The post holder will attend regular ward rounds with the other junior team members. Cover at consultant level is always available.
- The post holder will have an identified Trauma Surgeon in relation to educational development opportunities.
- May be invited to attend the departmental meetings, as well as an active Post-Graduate programme at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and, where duties/hours of work permit, the orthopaedic programme at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.

Eligibility :

- Full GMC
- MRCS or equivalent
- UK experience is desirable
- Tier 2 visa sponsorship is available
- Able to start ASAP
- Leadership skills appropriate to directing and teaching medical, nursing and other professions allied to medicine
- Excellent communication skills
