Role – Graduate Structural Engineer

Salary – £22,000 – £26,500 + Pension + Flexi-working hours

Location – Evesham

The Company

ATA Recruitment is currently working with a company that design, manufacture and install steel frame structures and structural steelwork for the construction market sector. They are built up in sections at their UK factory and then shipped to site.

The company turnover currently stands at circa £25 million and they presently employ close to 100 permanent employees. They are currently experiencing phenomenal organic growth and are hoping to achieve a turnover of £50 million within the next 5 years.

The Role

The role of Graduate Structural Engineer will involve:

  • Analysing configurations of structures.

  • Structural calculations for structures of new buildings and calculating sizes of structures.

  • Perform structural calculations related to stress, strain, bend, loads / wall loads and deflection.

  • Calculations will be produced using in-house software, spreadsheets and hand calculations.

  • You may have to perform some structural calculations related to concrete.

  • Provide the Draughting Team with specifications, data and sketches with structural calculations to model using Tekla 3D.

  • Liaise with other Architects, Draughters and Designers to agree on designs.

  • Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes.

  • Mark up drawings where you will take an Architects drawing and overlay the beans, structure, building location and column in AutoCAD 2D.

  • This is then passed to the Tekla Draughtsman to detail and to produce a model.

  • Attending meetings with customers with occasional site travel.

The Person

To be successful as a Graduate Structural Engineer you will need:

  • Civil or Structural Engineering Degree.

  • To be passionate about designing steel structures.
