We are currently recruiting for an experienced Intermodal Operations Executive to join a well-established rapidly expanding logistics company based in Oldbury who specialise in Road, Air and Sea Freight. You will be joining a successful company who offer a positive, progressive, modern working environment and free parking
This will be a varied role that requires someone who is extremely well organised and familiar with how a Freight Forwarding business operates. We also requires someone with an outgoing personality that is capable of negotiating with external agencies and maintaining business relationships.

You will need to possess the following skills to be successful in this role:-
  • Strong administrative skills and be very well organised.
  • Good written and verbal communications skills with both customer and suppliers are very important, as well as the ability to apply critical thinking skills and problem solving techniques.
  • Some knowledge or experience in the following areas is desirable: air, road or ocean movements, customs documentation and procedures, warehouse, office and transport procedures, shipping and flight schedules, freight tariffs and rates, and the ability to raise and complete documentation.
  • Outgoing, friendly, and commercially aware.
  • Good numeric skills are required.
  • Must be familiar with computer software programs e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
  • Have the desire to progress in the role and be ambitious.
  • Customer care is a vital part of this role and so good interpersonal skills are very important with experience in handling customer queries and complaints.
  • Proficiency and maintenance of our freight software system - ideally experience with MultiFreight would be desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in industry IT systems including Destin8, CNS and CHIEF.
  • Have experience in preparing documentation for import and export and dealing with relevant authorities i.e. HMRC, Port Health, DEFRA, Trading Standards
  • Negotiating with suppliers, carriers, hauliers, warehouse operators or distribution networks to determine tariffs which should be in the interests of the company at all times.
  • Requires excellent time management skills and the ability to organise one's own work effectively and efficiently.
  • Ability to make decisions at critical times and whilst under pressure work on their own initiative.

Working Hours & Salary:
  • Monday - Friday 8.30am-5.15pm
  • 1 hour lunch
  • £19,000 -£22,000 dependant on experience
