Sales Engineer – Engineering tools - £40,000

A position with a UK-based company for a Sales Engineer offers a great opportunity to work on demanding engineering projects selling tooling. The company supplies production solutions to leading UK engineering companies to improve their efficiency and productivity. This takes the form of manufacturing support equipment and process management hard and software. Our role includes taking projects from pre-sales to install, commissioning and training through to technical and service support after the sale. The company enjoys a respected position in the market place for technologically advanced and high precision German made products. Customers include many of the blue-chip engineering groups at the cutting edge of manufacturing technology in aerospace, automotive, power generation, medical and nuclear.

Package: £25,000 on the basic salary with OTE Y1 £50,000

Sales Engineer Role

The position holder is responsible for the account management and direct sales within the UK and Ireland. You will also be responsible for maintaining existing customers and growing revenue year on year through proactive sales with new and existing customers

Main Duties
• The key role is to develop new and existing customer business opportunities
• Selling and supporting high end and technically advanced products to leading blue chip manufacturing companies in the UK and Ireland.
• You will focus on customers with inefficient or obsolete systems and equipment with a view to updating and introducing our latest range of products and services
• You will need to offer technical advice in order to sell total solutions.
• You will develop aftermarket business revenue for spares and service contracts
• You will need to manage customers effectively and develop good working relationships in order to increase business
• You will need to establish good working relations with our main suppliers around Europe and be prepared to take customers to their sites for demonstrations, training and FAT’s
• There will be travel around the UK and Ireland for customer meetings

Sales Engineer Candidate

• Good command of the English language
• A background in and a focus on Engineering/ Manufacturing
• You must be able to demonstrate a good level of PC and IT skills
• Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage
• A good appreciation of modern metal cutting processes and experience within manufacturing machine tools and the factory environment will be beneficial.
• The ability to sell to engineers within an industrial environment is essential
• Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels to deliver sales presentations, instructions and training to our customers.
• Our growing business needs energy, enthusiasm and self motivation to meet our company goals
• An ability to take ownership of tasks and problems to a conclusion is needed
• Self motivation, and the ability to work alone out in the field as well as part of a team.
• A full UK driving licence with at least 5 years driving experience

Sales Engineer Package

• Starting Salary will depend on qualifications and experience from £25k +bonus+ commission
