Mechanical Site Engineer

Kidderminster and surrounding Areas

''Do you enjoy working outdoors, getting stuck in and making a difference to the environment, if so then read on!''

The Project

An opportunity has arisen to become part of a brand new planned and reactive maintenance unit focussed on maintaining our canals and rivers throughout the UK!

My have just been awarded a 7-year contract, with a possible 3-year extension as the front runner for the Canal and River Trust Framework. You will be undertaking planned and reactive maintenance/installation to over 1000+ pieces of equipment e.g. pumps, locks, flood levels and tanks across the region.

The Ideal Candidate

I want to hear from you if you are not made of salt scared of the cold and wet, like getting your hands dirty outdoors and making a real difference to the environment and water infrastructure which will last for years to come!

You will be part of a two-person mobile unit, responsible for all the Canal and River Trust sites, maintenance and installations. Travelling should not be an issue and if driving to and from sites up to 4 hours a day is going to bore you then no need to read on.

The Role

You will be going to and from sites, checking that equipment is working as planned, while always ready to travel out to unexpected breakdowns and emergencies that affect the whole of the Canal's and River's infrastructure! As a Mechanical Site Engineer, you will be required to work Monday- Friday with a 1 in 3 weeks call out rot, in the case of emergencies (Don't worry there is an uplift in pay!), so if you fear hard work or have dedicated weekend plans, this probably is not right for you!

The Requirements

To be considered for this role, you need to have pure passion and determination. You will need a clean Driver's licence with experience in the Water, Waste Water, Dam, Power Stations or Oil Industries as a Mechanical Site Engineer (or similar) and a SSSTS is preferable.

Salary: £14.32/hr for 40 Hours including travel (£29.7k) + 1.5-2x Overtime pay + Van (Permanent)
