Commercial Project Engineer

• Partner to over 40 OEM and 1st tier automotive businesses Globally including Ford, Rolls Royce, JLR , Audi, Honda, Nissan and BMW.

Working as part of a wider team supporting a key account, as Commercial Engineer you will play an integral role in the smooth management of commercial projects, working with internal colleagues (design, purchasing, commercial, technical) and key contacts within your designated key account (purchasing, design, engineering etc.) supporting the Commercial Manager.
Your role will involve:
• Regular communications with all interested parties including regular visits to client sites.
• Management of change within the scope of the project(s) to include potential cost changes (design change, raw material cost etc.) and managing these changes to a win/win outcome.
• Work with design teams and manufacturing to ensure project(s) run smoothly and to plan.
• Identify ways to maximise profitability within the project.

We are seeking a commercially astute Engineer with the ability to manage change within commercial projects, manage cost fluctuations and manage client expectations to achieve win/win scenarios.
• Suitably qualified and supported by a relevant engineering qualification, the ideal applicant will provide a blend of engineering knowledge and commercial capability.
• Ideally, already working in, or experience of the automotive industry, applicants with experience of working with the likes of JLR from a commercial engineering standpoint would be perfect. Knowledge of automotive interior products would be great (but not essential).
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills at a high level is required, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, as part of a small, dedicated team.
• The role will involve a reasonable level of travel within the UK and Europe (predominantly) with potential to visit sites further afield. A willingness to travel and clean, full driving licence is essential.
