Helping to ensuring a happy, stimulating and safe environment for the children, and that company policies and procedures are closely followed.

- To communicate effectively with all members of staff and act professionally at all times.
- To immediately notify the supervisor or deputy of any complaints received or any situations that may be detrimental to the company.
- Safeguarding children and ensuring an excellent level of education and care.
- To support other members of staff within the nursery, endeavouring at all times to maintain a harmonious relationship with all your colleagues.
- To avoid involvement in staff gossip, understanding the impact this has on team work and ultimately the quality of care given to the children.
- To maintain confidentiality, not to disclose information about children, parents and staff and to understand which circumstances warrant confidentiality to be broken, with reference to company policy and procedure.
- To develop and maintain successful and professional relationships with parents and carers.
- To accurately maintain nursery records such as registers, accident and incident books and staff signing book etc.
- To ensure that all consumable supplies are used with due economy.
- To notify your line manager of any significant problems as they arise.
- Notifying any form of discrimination in either the context of the staff or children immediately to a senior manager.

- Planning and participation in the schedule of daily activities.
- Participation in meal times and feeding arrangements, ensuring close supervision and adherence to the allergy and dietary requirements of each child.
- Make observations of children through play and identify planning aims.
- To accurately and effectively complete children's development books.
- Daily contact with parents, ensuring all parents are fully informed about their child's progress and given due regard to their concerns and questions.
- Ensuring children are received in an appropriate manner and only released to authorised adults.
- Participation in cleaning, toileting and nappy rotas.
- To take charge of a key group of children, as assigned to you by your line manager, and be involved in the preparation of parents evening.
- To ensure planned activities meet the children's individual needs
- You must be qualified to at least level 3 NVQ or equivalent
- You must undertake and enhanced DBS check.
