Our client, a leading Third Sector based organisation based in North Birmingham, is looking for a Procurement Officer on a temporary basis for three to six months. The working week for the post is made up of 37 hours from Monday to Friday and the rate is negotiable dependent on experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Providing advice to colleagues on procurement and tendering practices and developments in the procurement field
* Supporting colleagues in their understanding of key standard procedures and processes in procurement to create economies of scale and leverage the buying power of organisation
* Analysing suppliers and their ability to perform as well as acting as a liaison between suppliers, colleagues and other partners
* Ensuring probity, fairness and transparency at all times in the letting of contracts and appointment of suppliers, contractors and consultants
* Assisting the Senior Procurement Officer and Procurement Manager in monitoring and reporting on activities through a range of relevant performance indicators
* Assisting in the formulation of contracts and framework agreements and finalisation of contracts and associated documents prior to signature
* Preparing reports on contract performance and provide effective support to the designated contract managers and service users, supporting their management of the contractual relationship
* Maintaining sufficient contact with contract managers to ensure contracts which are awarded are successfully managed
* Providing guidance as required and assisting with any legal queries relating to terms agreed in the form of contract

The successful candidate must have experience of OJEU regulations and hold a CIPS qualification
