Our client is a specialist electronic repair company based in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Due to their continued expansion, they require a skilled Development Engineer to join their busy team.
They are market leaders with their ability to manage obsolescence throughout varying and niche industry sectors. As a forward-thinking company, they provide a unique service which is amongst the best within their industry.

The Development Engineer role will involve:
- Must have strong programming experience with the ability to develop programs
- Ability to fault find to component level
- Developing test equipment
- Must be confident and competent with reverse engineering
- Ability to create test procedures, processes and solutions
- Must be able to recognise components and locate point of failure without the aid of schematic drawings or OEM information.
- Confident in your ability to work on obsolete and unfamiliar products/components.
- Ability to overhaul and rework devices with an agreed final test solution

The ideal candidate will have/be:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have experience and/or be able to demonstrate the ability to reverse engineer
- A genuine interest in electronics
- Application and microcontroller Programming experience is required. However, if demonstrated at hobby level would be considered, depending on aptitude.
- A hands-on approach to work
- Excellent soldering skills (through-hole, surface mount etc.)

Our client is also interested to hear from someone who has a genuine interest in electronic hobbies or pastimes. They may be willing to see someone who has less work experience but can demonstrate the skills required using an electronic curiosity, creativity and the ability to think outside-of-the-box.

My client are a company that repair electronic products and components throughout a variety of industries including Manufacturing, Renewable Energy, Transportation (such as the rail industry) and Food and Drink manufacturing. They manage parts/components that are obsolete that don’t have OEM support.
Therefore, they are looking for someone who is a competent Development/Reverse engineer who has the ability to diagnose and repair unfamiliar components without the aid of OEM support or any schematic drawings to work from. They are also looking for someone who has the ability to develop test equipment and solutions to create an ongoing fix.
They are looking for someone who can work on unfamiliar devices, and to overhaul and rework the device to create an agreed final test solution for multiple devices. They will then write a test procedure to teach how to test on site
