Automotive Embedded Software Engineer, Birmingham, 35,000-43,000

We are looking for an Embedded software Engineer to join our client's engineering team as a result of growth which has been approved by head office in Germany in relation to the business securing multiple new projects.

You will be working in modern offices with a great team atmosphere and culture which contributes to such a low staff turnover.

The role will include the development of application level features for automotive OEM and Tier-1 customers; Configuring AUTOSAR basic software for ECU platforms; Integrating and configuring software for communication over CAN, LIN and Ethernet; Liaising with sales and engineering teams in UK and Germany for project delivery and Technical customer interaction on-site, by telephone and email, at home and abroad
Skills including quick-learner, strong communicator, investigative and someone who can work well under a bit of pressure.

This company have their software on the vast majority of cars across the globe and work with automotive tier-1s and OEMs world-wide.

Ideally, you will be an established engineer with great exposure to AND a passion for the Automotive industry however the hiring manager understands there will be a number of skills below that are very niche and if you only have limited knowledge in the areas of AUTOSAR, CAN protocols and associated tools and possess all of the competency in embedded software development skills, the business is open to offering you training and development to bring your knowledge up to speed in these areas, just as long as you do have a keen interest in these areas.

Key Skills
-Degree qualified in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent (2:1 Minimum ideally)
-Hands-on knowledge of Serial Bus protocols: CAN, LIN, Flexray, Ethernet, etc
-Microprocessors (Mainly 32 bit: Infineon, NXP, etc)
-Exposure to AUTOSAR basic software and methodologies (AUTOSAR BSW advantageous)
-Strong embedded C programming skills, ideally with an awareness of MISRA-C
-Embedded environment skills: Compilers, assemblers, emulators, version management systems, test tools
-MPC56xx knowledge would be an advantage
-Matlab/Simulink exposure beneficial
