Hays Education are currently working with a Birmingham Special School that supports individuals with Hearing Impairments. This Birmingham based SEN school is based Eastward, 6 miles from the city centre. The school provides support to pupils across KS3 - KS4, with Hearing impairments and other learning difficulties.
Your new role
This Teaching job will see you teaching Science 60% and ICT 40% (GCSE) to small class sizes of students across KS3 and KS4 and is expected to last up to June, with the possibility of continuing for the rest of the academic year. This job requires planning marking and assessments. Consequently you should be engaging passionate individual with the ability to engage disaffected individuals with special educational needs. Key aspects of this job include working the learning support staff and ensuring students make progress. This is a full time job working 5 days per week Monday - Friday and will start as soon as next Monday 12/03/18
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be an experienced Teacher with QTS have a minimum of 6 months experience of working with children with SEND. You must have a minimum of 40 days experience of working in schools, centres or provisions that support EBSD/ BESD/ EBD which can be referenced. Science/ ICT specialists will have be seen as a strong applicant and those with AQA ELC Science and /or WJEC entry Pathways will have a significant advantage. You will be passionate about helping young people achieve the best of their potential, be thick skinned and have a good sense of humour.
