Our independent client has a fantastic opportunity for Residential Support Workers to join their team. Offering a competitive salary of £23,000 to work at their unique residential school. They specialise in care, education and therapy for boys aged 8 to 19 with a range of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and associated emotional and behavioural difficulties. This beautiful and ‘good’ [Ofsted, 2017] School is located near Shrewsbury. Permanent day and Waking night positions are available.

Your role as a Children’s Residential Support Worker will involve...

  • Working as part of the team to safeguard the young people at all times
  • Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community
  • Assisting with practical care (cooking, cleaning etc)
  • Creating positive relationships and ensuring the needs of the young people are being met at all times
  • Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs
  • Maintaining accurate and clear record keeping


  • Ideally hold a QCF (NVQ level 3) in Children & Young People or a willingness to complete
  • A genuine passion for care and being part of a team
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Current UK driving license
